AI In Education
This initiative focuses on understanding how AI can enhance education by supporting personalized learning, adaptive instruction, and lifelong skill development. AI-enabled systems have the capacity to tailor content to individual learners, accommodate diverse learning styles, and provide real-time feedback, thereby improving engagement and outcomes. When applied thoughtfully, these technologies can help overcome barriers of cost, geography, language, and scale that limit access to education for millions of people.
At the same time, the project recognizes that AI in education raises important concerns. Issues of data privacy, algorithmic bias, transparency, and the potential erosion of human interaction require careful consideration. Education is not merely the transmission of information; it is a human process that involves mentorship, values, socialization, and the development of judgment and creativity. AI must therefore be designed and governed as a supportive tool, augmenting educators rather than replacing them.
A central aim of the project is to align AI-driven educational innovation with broader social goals, including human security, inclusion, and sustainable development. This involves integrating ethical standards, promoting digital literacy, and ensuring that technological advances serve the holistic development of learners.
Ultimately, the AI in Education project seeks to help shape a future in which artificial intelligence strengthens education as a public good鈥攅mpowering individuals, supporting lifelong learning, and enabling societies to adapt constructively to a rapidly changing world.

Seeding Ethical AI Stewardship for Shared Global Futures
Bangkok, June 25, 2025
This collaboration between the BRIDGES Coalition and WAAS acted as a vital push for a more “human” artificial intelligence during the 3rd UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of AI. The event moved beyond the usual industry jargon to center indigenous wisdom and the humanities as essential blueprints for digital governance. By challenging the purely profit-driven or technical status quo, the dialogue focused on how AI can be re-anchored in cultural diversity and ecological ethics, transforming it from a looming risk into a tool that genuinely respects the complexity of the global social fabric.
